THE body of a Borders artist killed in Bulgaria can be brought home – after more than £8,000 was raised to pay for his repatriation.

Andy Forsythe, from Ancrum, was shot dead in Sofia on August 15.

Friends and family set up a JustGiving page so he can be buried in the Borders.

And a total of £8,150 has been raised.

A statement, posted on the site on Friday (September 4), reads: "A big thank you to everyone for your help.

"Together you have made it possible to bring Andy home to his beloved Scotland to be laid to rest in Ancrum.

"We still welcome contributions to this appeal as there will be further expenses arising from Andy's tragic death."
