A BORDERS village has seen its former post office go up for sale.
The old post office on Smith’s Road, Darnick, was turned into a three-bedroom property – and it is now being marketed by Hastings at offers over £310,000.
Property website ESPC states: “The aptly named Southview sits within the conservation village of Darnick on the outskirts of Melrose.
“Formerly the village post office, this detached period property offers a unique home with character features blending with modern upgrades, with a charming south facing garden providing those impressive outlooks of the Eildon Hills.”
The traditional stone-built home has benefitted from renovations throughout, according to Hastings.
Highlights include a recently upgraded kitchen, a spacious lounge with woodburning stove, and gardens described as “delightful”.
"The property also has a greenhouse, log-store and a former bothy stone outbuilding, ideal for additional storage,” says Hastings.
According to EPSC, there is the chance to have a fourth bedroom or study.
