MELROSE rugby club have announced the Greenyards will reopen now that a deep-clean has been carried out.
Facilities were closed and training suspended on Thursday (September 17) after a person connected to the club tested positive for coronavirus.
But this evening (Sunday, September 20), the club’s board announced that the Greenyards will reopen tomorrow.
Melrose RFC’s director of safety, Jim Shepherd, said a deep-clean has been performed, with “all potential contact points” around the pitch disinfected.
Mr Shepherd said: “We are satisfied we have done everything we can to minimise any risk of contagion.
“We have carried out a full risk assessment and confirm all appropriate health and safety processes and procedures have been followed.
“We take our responsibilities to our players, staff, volunteers and visitors very seriously.
“We will remain vigilant and continue to take swift and decisive action to protect everyone’s health and safety.
“Facilities at the Greenyards will reopen on Monday morning and training, for all age groups, will resume.”
