Car parking charges will come into effect at Largs’ new Bellman’s Close facility from tomorrow, Tuesday 22 September.

The car park was bought by North Ayrshire Council earlier this year to provide additional spaces in the town centre.

There are 12 public spaces and five spaces for permit holders, with a maximum stay of four hours allowed.

Charges are in effect from 9am to 5pm daily including weekends, with prices £1.00 for up to an hour, £1.50 for up to two hours and £3.00 for up to four hours, while blue badge holders can park for free.

The council has a long-term plan to resurface and redesign the car park which will eventually increase capacity to 20 spaces.

The car park’s pay and display facility was postponed from earlier in the year as it was not deemed suitable at the time.
