A popular Maryhill pub has closed after a customer tested positive for coronavirus.
The Star and Garter on Garscube Road, near Queens Cross, decided to shut after it was informed.
Management said it has closed the bar for deep cleaning.
The pub tweeted: “We would like to notify customers that we have been informed that a customer who was in the pub over the weekend has tested positive for Covid-19. “We haven’t been contacted by track and trace to confirm the case but took the decision upon ourselves to close immediately.”
The pub management said staff will all be tested and it hopes to re-open on Saturday.
It continued: “Although the guidelines state we do not need to close the premises, we have taken the decision to temporarily close with immediate effect in order to deep clean the bar in full and have our staff tested.
“We have contacted most of our customers who were in the pub at the weekend.”
