THE Borders has registered five new cases of coronavirus – on the day Scotland clocked its record rise.
The latest Scottish Government data was published at 2pm today (Wednesday, October 7).
The increase in the last 24 hours brings the Borders' total number of cases since March to 549.

A total of 1,054 people have tested positive across Scotland overnight.
The total number of cases nationally since March now stands at 34,760.
In recent days, Scotland has seen cases increase by 800 (October 6) and 697 (October 5).
