A FURTHER 11 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the Borders in the last 24 hours.

The latest Scottish Government data was published at 2pm today (Tuesday, October 13).

The increase brings the Borders' total number of cases since March to 585.

Health chiefs also confirmed 1,297 people have tested positive across Scotland since yesterday.

The total number of cases nationally since March now stands at 41,256.

Seven new deaths have also been recorded.

The total death toll for Scotland is now 2,557.
