The service has been set up following the closure of the village shop
A NEW newspaper service is available in Clovenfords following the closure of the village shop.
Newspapers and magazines are available each day from 8.15am, or an hour later on Sundays, at the home of Bill Birch in Millbank Road.
As this is a non-profit making service, Bill asks for payment in advance with either cash or newspaper vouchers.
All must be pre-ordered.
There is also a weekly charge of 50p per person, but this will be waived if you have fewer than five newspapers a week.
Bill collects items from the newsagent and they can be picked up from an outhouse at his home.
