A 24-YEAR-OLD Innerleithen man has admitted stealing alcohol valued at hundreds of pounds from a local hotel.
Dell Geraghty pleaded guilty to the theft from a lockfast place at the Traquair Arms Hotel during the early hours of December 9.
Procurator fiscal Fraser Matheson said the accused was observed on CCTV intoxicated and stumbling around after forcing his way into the hotel.
He selected a number of bottles of whisky which came to a total value of £920.90, none of which was recovered.
But Geraghty has disputed the value of the alcohol stolen.
Defence lawyer Ross Dow said: "He remembers very little about the incident. The alcohol was shared among friends."
Sentence was deferred until January 11 for background reports.
