THE Borders has recorded 45 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours.
According to Scottish Government figures released today (Tuesday, January 12), since the COVID-19 pandemic began the Borders has recorded a total of 2,266 cases
There are currently 37 people in hospital in the Borders with the virus, with five in the intensive care unit (ICU). Yesterday there were seven in the ICU.

Nationally, there have been 153,423 cases since March last year and there are currently 1,717 people in hospital across Scotland with coronavirus.
To date there have been 5,023 people in Scotland who have died with coronavirus written on their death certificate.
