A MAN has been ordered to pay £300 after stealing a fireplace from a property he previously occupied in the Borders.
Selkirk Sheriff Court was told that Scott Dalgliesh, 39, entered the property last year and dismantled the fireplace using tools.
He was fined £100 for the offence and ordered to pay £200 compensation to Scottish Borders Housing Association.
