THE Borders has recorded 31 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to Scottish Government statistics.
Figures published at 2pm today (Friday, January 22) show that the region has now recorded 2,504 cases of COVID-19 since March last year.
There are now 41 people with coronavirus in hospital, with seven in the intensive care unit (ICU). Yesterday there were eight in the ICU.
A total of 1,480 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, across Scotland.
The national figure now stands at 169,699 since March.
