FIVE people in the Borders died last week with coronavirus mentioned on their death certificate, new statistics show.
The National Records of Scotland (NRS) published an update yesterday (Wednesday, February 17).
The figures cover the week beginning Monday, February 8.

According to the statistics, there have now been 139 coronavirus-related deaths in the region since last March (35 this year).
Across Scotland, a total of 323 people died with the virus between February 8 and February 14.
That brings the nationwide toll to 9,053 since the pandemic began.
