THE Borders has recorded seven new cases of coronavirus over the last 24 hours, according to Scottish Government statistics.

Figures published at 2pm today (Friday, February 19) show the region has now recorded 2,766 cases of COVID-19 since March last year.

There are currently seven people with coronavirus in hospital, with fewer than five in the intensive care unit (ICU).

A total of 885 people have tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours across Scotland.
