ONE person in the Borders died last week with coronavirus mentioned on their death certificate, according to the latest statistics.
The National Records of Scotland (NRS) published an update yesterday (Wednesday, April 14), for the week beginning April 5.
The figures show that 46 people in the Borders have had the virus listed on their death certificate this year.
A total of 150 coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in the region since the pandemic began in March 2020.
Nationally there were 34 deaths involving COVID-19 for the week of April 5-11.
Since the pandemic began, a total of 10,031 people have died where coronavirus was listed on the death certificate.
