THE Borders has recorded three new cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours, according to the most recent figures.

Updated case data is published at 2pm every day by the Scottish Government.

And today's figures (Friday, April 30) show the Borders has now recorded 2,890 positive cases since March last year.

Scotland has recorded 226,052 cases of coronavirus since the pandemic began.

There are still fewer than five people in hospital with the virus in the Borders, the latest figures show.

This means that there were fewer than five in hospital for the entirety of April, as was the case in March.
