A DOG broke its leg on wooden decking near a Borders town, a meeting has heard.
The pet was injured between Melrose and Newstead while on a walk.
The incident was discussed at Melrose Community Council on Wednesday, April 21.
Robin Chisholm said: “There’s a raised walkway with a wooden decking. Someone was walking their dog and one of its legs got stuck and it broke its leg.”
Jenny Linehan, a Scottish Borders Council member for Melrose, said: “I know exactly what you mean and I have to carry my dog over it.”
Ms Linehan, of the Conservatives, said that rabbit or chicken fencing on the walkway might solve the issue.
