A PEEBLESSHIRE community have lived up to their rousing spirited song despite the pandemic casting a cloud over the town’s annual traditions.
It really was a case of On St Ronan’s On, when last month, businesses and residents in Innerleithen made sure the town was awash with colour for the summer.
Floral hanging baskets now adorn the main street featuring an array of colourful plants, bringing exquisite vibrancy to the historic town.

Speaking to the Peeblesshire News last week, chairman of the Innerleithen Community Trust, Ross McGinn, praised businesses and householders of the town’s High Street.
He said: “Once again, they have risen to the fore, funding the floral hanging baskets that now adorn the street which enhances the attractiveness of the town for both locals and visitors alike.
“Donations from businesses, householders and individuals in our community make this display possible. Also, those willing volunteers who faithfully water and feed the plants each evening over the summer are a credit to this community. Without them, this project could not happen.”
