Proposals to change the use of the ground and first floor of a building at 50 Tradeston Street, from business use to assembly and leisure were submitted to Glasgow City Council this week.
If approved the building would act as the second component of Grainstore Glasgow, a purpose built studio and workspace for all businesses at 60 Tradeston Street.

Bringing a currently vacant building back into use, the property would be occupied by Robert Hamilton Dancepoint Studios, providing dance and musical theatre lessons to young performers.
Formally associated with the rear storage area of WS Parts, a wholesale supplier of mobile phone parts, accessories and repair services the facility would teach young budding artists.
Operating hours would vary slightly due to needs of the clients but the longest hours would be 8am until 9.30pm with most classes finishing at 6.30pm. Late classes would only operate two or three days a week.
The dance studio would operate Monday to Friday but there may be a need to open at the weekend in the run up to dance performances.

The two studios would serve a maximum of 30 students, accompanied by one or two teachers per class with three members of office staff.
The proposed change of use will not require any external alterations but internal alterations may be required which will not require planning permission including the removal of existing conveyer belt apparatus and replacing the front rolling shutter with double leaf fire doors.
Now that the proposals have been submitted to the council a decision will be made in due course.
