OUTDOOR adventures and rewilding will be the focus of this year’s Peebles Outdoor Film Festival.
The festival, which had been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, will run from August 13-15 and festival-goers won’t be limited to just watching films.
Caroline Adam, general manager of the Eastgate Theatre – which organises the festival – said: “Ever since the film festival had to be postponed at the beginning of the year, we were hopeful that we would be able to put together a slimmed-down version for the summer.”
A range of daytime adventures will be on offer alongside the festival, including tree climbing, bird box building and paddling along the Tweed.
And following a day of activities, film fans can make their way to the Eastgate Theatre to view the programme of adventure films which include award-winning feature films such as The Cull: Scotland’s Deer Dilemma, which discusses red deer and rewilding in the Scottish landscape.
Ms Adam said: “We are so pleased that is now possible and look forward to welcoming audiences to a slightly different but equally exciting version of the festival before it returns to its usual January slot in 2022.”
Audiences will also have the chance to hear from Anna Rutherford, an ultra-runner from Peebles who completed a record-breaking run on the Southern Upland Way.
A full festival programme is available at: eastgatearts.com and tickets can be booked online, at the theatre box office or over the phone on 01721 725777.
