THERE are 12 people in hospital in the Borders with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to an official update.
According to Scottish Government data released at 2pm today (August 11), two new hospital patients were reported in the region over a 24-hour period, bringing the current total to 12.
Yesterday (August 11) the Borders recorded the highest number of coronavirus patients in hospital since February 17, 2021.

In addition to the two new hospital patients, over the last 24 hours the Borders also recorded 22 new positive coronavirus cases.
The latest data shows that since the start of the pandemic the Borders has reported 4,681 cases of coronavirus.
Since March 2020 Scotland has recorded 359,442 cases of COVID-19.
And nationally there are currently 356 people in hospital with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus.
