AN EXHIBITION of recent paintings in mixed media by artist Douglas Davies will be held at the Biggar Museum from Saturday, August 21 until Sunday, September 12.

Born in Edinburgh, Douglas has lived in the Borders for more than 40 years and has found constant inspiration in the views all around.

He also frequently visits the north of Spain and south west of France and captures many different scenes from the Continent.

Some of Douglas' sketchbooks will be on display at the exhibition.

Given the changes in guidelines, the museum is hoping that some evening ‘talks around the exhibition with the artist’ will take place.

Douglas is a Graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and was a lecturer at Glasgow School of Art, before becoming a full time painter in 2000.

In that year he was elected to be a member of Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW).
