THE Borders recorded three coronavirus-related deaths last week, new data shows.
The National Records of Scotland (NRS) published an update at 12pm today (September 8), covering the week August 30-September 5.
And during that seven-day period, the Borders recorded three deaths where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate.
This takes the total number of deaths in the region to 67 this year and 171 since the start of the pandemic.
According to the NRS data, as at September 5 there have been a total of 10,612 deaths registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
