THE Borders recorded more than 100 new cases of coronavirus over the weekend, figures show.

According to Scottish Government data released at 2pm today (Monday, September 20) since Friday (September 17) the number of positive cases in the Borders rose by 160 from 6,955 to 7,115.

The number of people in hospital in the Borders with confirmed COVID-19 currently stands at 22 – two fewer than on Friday.

Since March 2020 Scotland has recorded 535,955 cases of COVID-19.

And nationally there are currently 1,088 people in hospital with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus.
