AN ONLINE information event aimed at residents of the Borders who would like to consider a career as a police officer attracted 40 attendees according to Police Scotland.
The event took place between 6.30pm and 8pm on Thursday, October 21.
All of those attending live in (or very close to) the Borders area.
During the event attendees learned about the force’s recruitment process, the training, the role of a police officer and the opportunities which are available to those embarking on this career path.
No figures are available at this time as regards to applications to join the force, but this will be monitored in due course.
Although the numbers appear positive a police spokesperson said: “It is difficult to deem how successful the event was at this stage as this really needs to be determined by how many actually apply.”
