THE FJORDHUS Reivers took the points against Granite City without firing on all cylinders at Tweedbank last weekend.

The Reivers started well and within three minutes from some good interplay in midfield from Emily Newlands and Robin Wales to the edge of the D, resulted in Rhona Gowans finishing off the move ruthlessly to make it 1-0.

Moments later Granite City equalised before a Megan Campbell intercepted the ball on the edge of D, rounded the keeper and scored with reverse hit from a tight angle to restore the Reivers lead.

Just before half-time, the Reivers increased their lead when Rebecca Anderson found Chloe Richardson, who drove into the D finished expertly.

The away team began the third quarter on the front foot and pulled one back then almost equalised when a second penalty corner was stopped bravely by Richardson.

The fourth quarter was end to end action with no real chances created for either side until Anderson went on a great run into D resulted in penalty corner which was fired just wide from Richardson and the game ended in favour of the hosts.
