THE Borders has recorded 116 new cases of coronavirus in the last day, latest figures show.

According to Scottish Government data published at 2pm today (November 3), the Borders has now seen 9,343 cases of the virus since the start of the pandemic.

There had been a backlog of results being reported from NHS Scotland Pillar 1 lab tests from the afternoon of November 1 which also impacted reported cases on November 2. These missed results were included in today's release.

There are 22 people in the hospital in the Borders with confirmed cases of the virus – two fewer than yesterday.

Scotland has now recorded 651,169 cases of the virus since March last year, according to the latest data.
