Locals could save up to £80 at Peeblesshire businesses

The ‘Peebles Let’s Eat’ card is valid until March 2022.

And it offers a variety of deals to customers which can be redeemed at 18 local food retailers.

It will also help raise funds for pupils at Peebles High School, with 60 per cent of each discount card sold going straight to support the education of students.

Debbie Matthews, of Gala Life – which worked with the PTA at Peebles High School – said: “The idea was raised by myself with the PTA of Peebles High School.

“The purpose is to raise funds for the school and all its pupils.

“The idea is to raise funds in a way that benefits the local businesses who are often asked to support the community, but in this case to also help them to keep busy after a very difficult two years for most of them.”

Retailers providing offers include : Saffron, Potting Shed, Mr McGeever’s, Scots Pine, Della’s, Ramblers Café, Shukria, and Jim Jack’s.

Ms Matthews added: “The great offers range from free lunches, free breakfasts and free ice cream and there is something for everyone.

“Barony Castle are offering 20 per cent off when you dine with them, if it’s a curry you prefer then Saffron or Shukria are on there.

“For those of us who like to pop out for a cuppa with friends several of the businesses are offering a free hot drink of your choice.

“If you are more energetic and are up Glentress then The Peel Café has free soup for lunch on their menu.”

The card can be bought via the high school using Parent Pay, or they can be bought from The Gift Box, Whitties or The Hub in Innerleithen.

If all deals are redeemed, customers could save up to £80 at local retailers.
