POLICE officers in the Scottish Borders are appealing for help to trace a woman who went to the assistance of a 49-year-old man following an assault in Duns last month.

The incident took place in broad daylight around 1pm on Tuesday 14 December 2021 in Market Square.

The street is likely to have been busy at that time of the day and officers would also be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident but in particular the good Samaritan.

No descriptions of the suspect(s) has been released.

A police spokesperson said: “We are particularly interested in tracing a female witness who assisted the male.”

Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the Police on 101 and quote incident 1852 of 14/12/2021. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
