The Gala Fairydean Rovers FC Community Trust will be holding a Foodbank collection at Netherdale tomorrow. (Saturday 15 January 2022.)

The collection will take place prior to Gala Fairydean Rovers FC facing Lowland League leaders Bonnyrigg Rose with kick off at 3pm.

Supporters are invited to drop off donations of non-perishable items either in the clubrooms or at the gate or to make a cash donation.

Secretary of the Community Trust Graeme McIver told us; “Our Trust is proud to have formed a community partnership with Galashiels Foodbank and we hope to help provide essential supplies to a large number of local families who are struggling over the festive season and well into the New Year.

“The Foodbank have told us that whilst they welcome all donations they are looking for items such as tea, coffee, jam, biscuits, sugar, tinned ham, tinned meat for heating such as meatballs and stew along with tinned deserts such as custard and rice pudding.”

The Gala Fairydean Rovers FC Community Trust was launched in September 2020 and aims to engage, inspire and empower the people of Galashiels and the Central Borders to live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

“The Trust includes the GFR Football Academy, the Gala Fairydean Rovers Amateur Football Squad, the Women’s and Girl’s section, Para (Disability) Football, and over 50’s Walking Football.
