AN INTERACTIVE Borders map shows which areas of the region have seen the most new cases of coronavirus in recent days.

The Public Health Scotland tool also shows the seven-day case rate per 100,000 of the population.

The Borders is split into 30 neighbourhoods on the map – which displays data between January 5-11.

Chirnside and Area recorded the most cases of COVID-19 during the period with 50.

Lauder and Area’s total of 11 cases was the lowest seen in the region over the seven days.

Chirnside also saw the highest case rate at 1,275.8.

Only Denholm and Hermitage, and Lauder recorded rates which placed them outside the highest category of 400 cases per 100,000, with 394.3 and 347.6 respectively.
