PEEBLESSHIRE strongman Colin Smith is hoping to raise £55,555 for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation by pulling no less than three truck cabs for 50 feet.

Colin worked for many years with Rock Steady Security and on a number of occasions he accompanied Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir.

So when he heard the news that Doddie had been diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease he wanted to do something out of the ordinary to raise funds for the charity.

He decided to perform a feat that no one else had undertaken and initially considered a car pull or even a bus pull but settled on a tougher challenge.

And so ‘The MND Big Pull’ was born. Colin originally considered pulling a truck and trailer for at least 50 meters, however as time went on, he believed he could make this challenge even bigger and better. The MND Big Pull just grew legs or should we say wheels!

Therefore, Colin is embarking on a strongman challenge like no other.

During the weekend of 5-7 August 2022 he will pull not one, not two but three truck cabs and one HGV trailer.

He had planned to perform this feat in 2020 but as with all events, this had to be delayed due to the pandemic.

However, Colin is back fitter, stronger and ready for the biggest challenge of his life.
