AN INTERACTIVE map shows which areas of the Borders have recorded the highest number of new coronavirus cases in recent days.

The Public Health Scotland tool – which splits the region into 30 neighbourhoods – also shows the seven-day infection rate per 100,000 of the population in each place.

The data covers the period from April 5-11.

According to the map, Peebles North has the highest rate at 1,173.7 after recording 50 cases.

Peebles South is next with a rate of 1,150.5 from 49 cases recorded over the seven-day period.
