SELKIRK won the latest round of the Kings of the Sevens tournament at the Haugh in Earlston this afternoon,(Sunday May 1 2022) beating Melrose in the final.
Unlike other recent tournaments, the Earlston Sevens was played as a knock-out tournament.
Kelso beat Dalkeith 27-5 in the opening game then hosts Earlston lost 55-0 to Gala.
Selkirk beat the Powerbombs 26-12 before guest team GAC7 who were replacing Lismore and playing in George Crawford Legacy Trust jerseys beat Hawick 26-19.
Melrose beat Edinburgh Accies 33-7 then Gala YM beat Boroughmuir 17-0.
Watsonians beat Berwick 35-19 and on-form Jed-Forest beat Peebles 33-0.
Gala beat Kelso 33-19 in the opening quarter-final then Selkirk beat GAC7 33-0.
Melrose beat Gala YM 54-5 and Jed-Forest beat Watsonians 17-15.
In the first semi-final Selkirk beat Kelso 14-12.
In the second-semi-final Melrose beat Jed-Forest 19-14.
Selkirk beat Melrose 26-5 in the final.
