A PEEBLESSHIRE event is celebrating a major milestone, and wants more people to get involved.

Haylodge Park will host its 100th Peebles Parkrun later this month.

And to mark the occasion organisers are hoping to see 100 people cross the finish line.

The event, which is run by event directors Neil Christie and Archie Cameron, takes place on Saturday, May 21 and is free to join.

Organisers of the 5km Parkrun said: "To mark this milestone we want to attract enough new participants to get 100 people over the finish line.

"There is no time limit in Parkrun events – you can walk, jog or run at your own pace.

"One thing we will guarantee is that you will not be last; that honour goes to our Tail Walker.

"We go up to the golf club for a coffee and post event social afterwards and as May 21 is a special occasion for us we may even have some celebratory cake at the finish line.

"We are looking forward to welcoming you."
