A FAMILY festival is set to return to the Borders following a “hugely successful” first year.
And an extended programme is being planned for ScottFest 2022 – an event inspired by Sir Walter Scott’s life and works.
The festival will be held at Abbotsford across three days from Friday, August 12 to Sunday, August 14.
Giles Ingram, chief executive at Abbotsford, said: “After a successful first year, we’re delighted to be bringing ScottFest back as a three-day event in 2022, with support from EventScotland.

“We are now putting the final plans in place for what promises to be a fantastic weekend of entertainment for locals and visitors, an opportunity for a great day out on the last weekend of the school holidays.”
During the weekend, Abbotsford will be transformed into a “colourful carnival site” with three full days of entertainment, activities, food and drink.
Access to the estate will be by event ticket only, which will also include entry to Scott’s historic home and gardens.
Early bird tickets are now available on the Abbotsford website. Gates will open at 10.30am each day, with the entertainment finishing at 5pm.
