It's the first time it has been held in full since three spectators were killed in 2014.

A spokesperson for the world-famous event said: "The organisers have been forced to cancel the second pass of the Westruther stage due to issues outside of our control.

Police have confirmed that the road has now reopened and officers are making enquiries to establish the reason it was there.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police attended at the Westruther stage of the Jim Clark Rally on Saturday, 28 May, 2022 following the report of a vehicle blocking the road.

“Enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances and the road has now reopened.”

Unconfirmed reports on social media suggest the vehicle was left on the road as a protest to spectators parking in a nearby field.

The race continued and Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin claimed the 2022 Beatsons Building Supplies Jim Clark Rally win.

Further information is anticipated from police and organisers in due course.
