AN IMPRESSIVE lineup of international drag talent will come to the Borders this weekend.

Stars from the world of RuPaul's Drag Race will take to the stage at the Memorial Hall in Innerleithen on Sunday, June 19.

Organised by Borders-based events company, Inside Promotions, performers from the famous drag franchise include Jujubee (Drag Race UK vs The World, Allstars, Queen of the Universe), Killer Queen (Drag Race España), Sederginne (Drag Race Holland), Scarlett Harlett (Drag Race UK), and Choriza May (Drag Race UK).

Phil Walker, director of Inside Promotions, said: “We have been looking forward to this event, ever since UK vs The World aired on BBC Three earlier this year.

"We had Jujubee scheduled to perform in 2020 but due to the global situation with COVID-19 we had been prevented from running the show.

"This lineup has grown from that and we have an incredible night planned."

Canadian drag queen Jimbo (Canada's Drag Race, Drag Race UK vs The World) was also scheduled to join the event, however, is unable to attend due to other filming commitments.

Mr Walker added: “We are disappointed not to be able to bring Jimbo to the Borders in June, but they are keen to come and we have an exciting concept for later in the year that we will be announcing soon."

Sunday night's event will be hosted by Newcastle's Queen of Comedy, Gladys Duffy, who members of the audience will recognise from ITV's Celebability and joining the Drag Race stars will be the Borders own singing sensation Lourde Godd.

Lourde, who has been nominated for a National Diversity Award – Positive Role Model, recently hosted the album launch party for singer Charli XCX's latest release 'Crash' in London with Scarlett Harlett.

Audiences in Innerleithen are set for a great two hours of amazing entertainment.

And after all of the performers have finished their sets the audience will decide who their Queen of the World is.

Tickets, including meet and greet packages are on sale from £10 at www.insidepromotions.uk or on Eventbrite.
