Maybe you even want both. And if so, well you’re in luck, the Isle of Arran brewery is looking to hire three positions, including a trainee brewer. So, if you’re not a brewing expert (yet), not to worry!

Isle of Arran Brewery

Fans of the Scottish beer scene will be well aware of the Arran brewery, but for those who aren’t, here's what you need to know.

The brewery is situated on the Isle of Arran, a small island in the Firth of Clyde, less than 15 miles from the Scottish mainland at Ardrossan and only 5 miles from Claonig on the Kintyre Peninsula.

The brewery website describes the process of creating its delicious beer, writing: “Combining the art of traditional brewing methods with the island’s unique water and only the finest natural ingredients the brewery produces a wide range of beers and ales to suit every palette.”

Upon the departure of the head brewer, the Isle of Arran Brewery is now looking to hire two brewery positions and one delivery driver. So whether you want to make the beer or just be in close proximity, there’s a job for you.

Jobs at the Isle of Arran Brewery

Trainee Brewer: If you’re looking to get into the world of brewing, this is the perfect role for you. With a pay of £9.50 an hour, you will participate in all aspects of the process.

The trainee programme will take you from a novice to a fully qualified brewer and provide you with a good understanding and practical experience of all aspects of the brewing process.

Brewer: This position comes with a salary of £19,000 and will see you involved in everything from ordering raw materials through to bottling via the in-house filler.

You will be responsible, alongside all other members of staff, for maintaining the SALSA Plus Beer accreditation, and for developing new products for the retail market.

Delivery Driver: If making the beer isn’t for you, how about delivering it? With a rate of pay of £10 an hour, the brewery is looking for a driver to help deliver all the important beer packages. You will need to have a full B category license and will ideally also have a category C1 license and an FLT license. This is a part-time position at 16 hours a week.

And what is a job at a brewery without some beer, all these jobs come with an employee discount so you can sample the products for less!
