THIS summer, Thirlestane Castle, one of the oldest and finest castles in Scotland, plans to make the most of Britain’s favourite time of year with a series of spectacular seasonal events.

From breaking a sweat with sensational fitness coach Joe Wicks to outdoor theatre set against the exquisite 16th Century Castle, these events are the perfect way to experience Scotland’s long summer days and balmy nights.

Kicking things off on August 5, Joe Wicks will be hosting ‘P.E with Joe’ with MINI on the road. This event is set to bring friends and family together to get active and show some Big Love to their mental and physical wellbeing.

On August 11, Pinch Punch Productions will welcome guests aboard their hilarious and exciting outdoor show, Murder on The Improvised Express.

Taking a turn from your average whodunnit, in this fully improvised murder mystery the audience must help solve the case. Featuring thrills, spills and good old fashioned kills, this comedy event is not to be missed.

Later in the month, visitors can look forward to a bicycle-powered production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

The world’s first cycling theatre company, The HandleBards, pedal from venue to venue with all the set, props and costume necessary to perform environmentally sustainable Shakespeare across the globe.

Guests to this outdoor theatre event on 18th August can expect riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos and a great deal of laughter.

For that something extra special, guests can immerse themselves in the Castle’s incredible history and magnificent interiors with a Champagne Guided Tour.

Led by Edward Maitland-Carew as he shares unique stories of life at Thirlestane and what it was like being raised at the Castle, this after hours tour will be available on July 14 and August 25 at 6pm.

This is an opportunity to experience the special atmosphere of Thirlestane at twilight, all while sipping a chilled glass of Champagne.
