A PEEBLES music group is excited to return for a new season of live sessions.

Peebles Players, which was set up for adults with disabilities, spent the coronavirus pandemic meeting over Zoom.

However, in September 2021 the group returned to its in person sessions at the Eastgate Theatre.

After a break for the summer, the Players are looking forward to their new season of creative music sessions.

A spokesperson for the group said: "The Players continued to meet weekly on Zoom throughout Lockdown and last September, began live sessions back at the Eastgate, though with restricted numbers, protected by stringent safety precautions.

"No wonder members are excited to return to their lively, creative music sessions – singing well-loved songs, old and new; creating original percussion music on a selection of colourful instruments to suit each player; adding movement and drama, which they hope eventually, to share with the community in performance.

"During the weekly sessions through August, the Players will be preparing songs and percussion for the annual Busking Festival at the end of the month – always a very joyful occasion, especially if the ‘Sun has got his Hat on’!"

Peebles Players was founded in 1990 and opens music sessions where everyone can communicate through music, make friends and discover new talents in a fun and creative environment.

The group currently has spaces for new members and carers.

Peebles Players meets on Mondays from 2-3pm in the Eastgate Studio.
