A ROOF request at an historic Borders hotel is to be considered by Scottish Borders Council.
The Spread Eagle Hotel at 20 High Street in Jedburgh is a category C listed building.
The roof was made up of second hand Welsh slates which were soft, broken, falling off and with water ingress starting to deteriorate the lower structure of the building.
Through the Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (Cars) the hotel received funding to replace roof slates at the front of the hotel with new Cupa Pizzaras Spanish grey slates.
Now an application is to be considered to replace the remaining Welsh slates at the rear of the building.
