A 29-YEAR-OLD man who assaulted his former partner by seizing hold of her by the throat and pushing her against a wall causing her to fall to the ground has been banned from contacting her for the next three years.
Jerome Starkey, of Tower Knowe, Hawick, was made subject to a three-year Non-Harassment Order for the assault at a house in Hawick, on January 29.
He also pleaded at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour.
Starkey was given a Community Pay Order for two years and to attend the Caledonian Men's Programme.
In addition he was fined £200 for breaching bail orders on two occasions with a £10 Victim Surcharge.
