THE finalists have been chosen for the Scottish Borders Business Excellence Awards which celebrate the innovation, resilience and determination of businesses in the local area.

Winners will be announced at the Peebles Hydro on Friday September 2 2022.

This year’s event will also include two additional categories: Developing the Young Workforce and Business Leader of the Year.

The shortlisted candidates for each category are as follows.

Micro Business of the Year – Doggie Day Care from Galashiels, Findra from Innerleithen and Perfect Fit Children’s Wear from Peebles.

Developing the Young Work Force – Aquarius Hair Design from Earlston, Evolution Bottling and Purchasing Solutions from Peebles and Graham Reid Accountancy from Duns and Eyemouth.

Innovation in Business – AR & Co, Findra from Innerleithen and Three Hills Coffee from Selkirk.

Family Business of the Year - BE Uniforms from Greenlaw and Noon Entertainment from Kelso.

SME Business of the Year – BE Uniforms from Greenlaw, Humes Outfitter from Kelso and Scotland Shop from Duns.

Health and Wellness Business of the Year – Eildon Housing from Selkirk, Humes Outfitter from Kelso and So Connect from Newtown St Boswells.

Young Business Person of the Year – Ashley Barry (The Gretel) from Hawick, Craig Jackson (Bean N Gone) from Melrose and Leonie (Doggie Day Care) from Galashiels.

Social Enterprise of the Year – At Birkhill House from Earlston, Cafe Recarge from Galashiels and the General Store from Selkirk.

Sole Trader of the Year - EJW Media from Hawick, Envy Academy Borders from Hawick and Got 2 Dance from Hawick.
