THE conversion of a village crèche and meeting room into a temporary shop has proved anything but child’s play after the bid was thwarted.
Broughton Village Trust submitted an application to the council for the change of use of the hall cottage.
The plan was for it to be used as a retail outlet for six months while renovation work is carried out to the existing village store.
But it was deemed that was too long a period for a change of use bid and that a full planning application would need to be submitted.
