LOULABELLE’S in Innerleithen now holds the accolade of a Good Food Awards Blue Ribbon 2023.

The Good Food Awards recognise hard-working teams who strive for excellence within their field.

And Loulabelle's was chosen for their food quality, service and value.

The popular Café is no stranger to awards having picked up the Scottish Business Awards Best Eatery in the Borders and the Best Eatery in Scotland titles in 2021.

Loulabelle’s specialises in home baking and also caters for the vegan and gluten-free market although most customers opt for their famous Bakewell tarts.

Peeblesshire News:

The cafe is owned and run by Louise Cumming and her partner Philip Ashcroft.

The pair moved to the town eight years ago partly due to the mountain biking facilities available in the area and they love life in the Borders.

They then made the lifestyle choice to open the shop in 2018 and it has grown into a successful business.

Louise said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Good Food Awards Blue Ribbon for Cafes 2023. I think, the only cafe in the Scottish Borders to hold this award.

“The entry criteria is very strict and requires things like 100% hygiene levels and a requirement to make our own food.

" Phil bakes as well, so our entire range of cakes and bakes are made by either myself or Phil.

Then there are stringent background and customer ratings checks before it goes to a vote.

“Being just a small café I wasn’t sure that we be accepted so to have been awarded the accolade is a real honour.

"I’d like to say a huge thanks to the team for all their hard work and off course to all our customers for their continued support.

“We really are so lucky to have the support of so many local people and regular customers especially during these difficult times with Covid lockdowns and cost of living increase. “

Loulabelle’s opens from 10am to 4.30pm every day except Thursdays.
