PUPILS at a Peebles school have helped to create this year's Guy for the Peebles and District Round Table fireworks event tomorrow night (Saturday).

Youngsters from P7 at Halyrude Primary School had the chance to design and create the Guy which will be used as part of this year's bonfire and fireworks display at Victoria Park.

The theme of this year's fireworks is a 'magical extravaganza' – with 15 minutes of fireworks setting off with songs from Disney classics.

The display is free of charge, however, donations are invited to be made on the night, with all the money going to the Peeblesshire Foodbank.

Richard Brown, chair of the Peebles and District Round Table said: "The event is run by the Peebles and District Round table and would not be possible without the generous sponsorship from Stobo castle health spa.

"One hundred per cent of donations will go to the Peebleshire Foodbank who are in desperate need of funds.

"All we ask is that you donate £5 for each adult, and enjoy what promises to be one of the best fireworks display in the calendar!"

And the fireworks will be started by this year's Beltane Queen Elena Chrystie.

The bonfire will be lit at 7pm before the fireworks countdown begins at 7.30pm.

A range of food and drink options will be available on the night, including Bonnie Burito, Wood Oven Wonders Pizza, Brew 52, burgers and there will also be some rides to enjoy.
