POLICE have identified the two people who died in a crash near Lauder last week.
On Friday, November 11 at around 4.30pm, Adam Allan (79) and Christine Allan (85), from Kelso, were pronounced dead at the scene following a collision on the A697.
Mr Allan was driving a red Kia Venga, and Mrs Allan was the front seat passenger in the same car.
The Venga collided with a blue Kia Sportage driven by a woman who was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The road was closed for around seven hours to allow officers to carry out their investigations.
Sergeant Kosmas Papakyriakou said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr and Mrs Allan’s family and friends at this very difficult time for them.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge anyone who may have information to contact us.
“You can call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2597 of 11 November.”
