THE public are being asked to be "extra vigilant" after two men were spotted "acting suspiciously" in a Borders village.
Officers with Scottish Borders Police were made aware of two men spotted acting suspiciously outside a house around Renwick Lane in Cardrona.
The men were seen outside the door of a house in the area between 8pma and 8.30pm last night (Sunday, November 20).
According to reports, when the men were challenged, they "ran off".
A spokesperson for Scottish Borders Police said: "Officers are reminding people to be alert to suspicious behaviour.
"A secure home is problematic for an opportunist thief, make sure your home is protected.
"Ensure your windows and doors are locked, ensure any garages or outbuildings are adequately secured."
