AS temperatures continue to drop, thoughts turn to when the Borders will see its first snow of the winter.

And according to weather reports, the region won't have long to wait.

Reports suggest that from Tuesday next week (December 13) there will be light snow spells for parts of the Borders.

Up to Thursday (December 15) the snow will be more persistent, but is still expected to remain light.

On Friday and Saturday (December 16-17) snow showers will return to light rainfall, before temperatures fall again on Sunday (December 18) when the rain turns to sleet in the early morning and in the evening.

The Met Office has not issued any weather warnings for the Borders in line with the arrival of snow.
